This Is Just To Say - William Carlos Williams - Parody

Kia ora bloggers, This week in literacy we looked at the poem, This Is Just To Say By William Carlos William and we created our own parody First, we looked at the original poem

I have eaten
The plums
That we’re in the icebox

And which
You were probably
Saving for breakfast

Forgive me they were
Delicious
So sweet
And so cold

As you can see it is quite simple but clear. Next, we replaced the blue words for our own plus we were allowed to change some. Here is my one

I have taken your dogs to the park
They were roaming around on the road
That is why I took them

And which they are happy at the park
You were most likely wondering where they where
And you where Probably going to take them for a walk

Forgive me they were so cute and so fluffy

So sweet

And so warm

My one is quite different from the original as I changed quite a few words.

Have you written any poems??

I look foward to seeing you next time

  1. Hi Mckenna...

Your poem is awesome! I like how you made the words blue so you could tell which words you put in! When I was younger I would steal my grandads sugar packets and put the empty packets in his sofa! Maybe next time you could Make it easier to read.
    BYE!!!!
