My Identity
Kia Ora Bloggers, For the past few weeks we have been looking at our family trees and our mihi. All of my close family is from New Zealand. I only did a very small family tree and other people did big ones. For the start of our mihi, we had to write down our family and translate them into Maori words. Here is my slide

Original Oranga Tamariki Poster
Kia Ora bloggers, This term for Inquiry our topic is connecting with our community. For the past week we have been looking at places to go if we needed help of support. We got given the task to create a poster with a place of our choice. I chose Oranga Tamariki because I think it is a good place to go for kids that are abused, unsafe or in danger to get support. Here is the poster I created

This Is Just To Say - William Carlos Williams - Parody
Kia ora bloggers, This week in literacy we looked at the poem, This Is Just To Say By William Carlos William and we created our own parody First, we looked at the original poem
I have eaten
The plums
That we’re in the icebox
And which
You were probably
Saving for breakfast
Forgive me they were
Delicious
So sweet
And so cold
As you can see it is quite simple but clear. Next, we replaced the blue words for our own plus we were allowed to change some. Here is my one
I have taken your dogs to the park
They were roaming around on the road
That is why I took them
And which they are happy at the park
You were most likely wondering where they where
And you where Probably going to take them for a walk
Forgive me they were so cute and so fluffy
So sweet
And so warm
My one is quite different from the original as I changed quite a few words.
Have you written any poems??
I look foward to seeing you next time

Brilliant Bar Graphs
Kia ora Bloggers!
Welcome back to the new year and my first blog post.
In Davies math group we have been revising our knowledge on bar graphs.
First, we had to create a bar graph containing the information of davies math group eye colour. I had not drawn one in a while so I couldn't really what it looked like.
I know it's not very good because it did not show the information very well but know I have a checklist
- Scale starting at 0 and going up equally
- Gaps between the bars,
- even the y-axis Labelling my axis
- A detailed title T
- The frequency numbers on the lines, not in the squares Use a ruler
I tried again and BOOM! my second attempt is so much better
I have ticked everything on my checklist and it shows my information nice and clearly
Have you started your math programme yet?
If you have what are you learning?

My Perfect Portrait
Kia Ora Bloggers,
Throughout the last few weeks, we got set the task of creating our own self-portraits inspired by Romero Britto the famous artist here is one of his many portraits.
It is very colourful and vibrant with lots of detail.
It was soon enough that I had to draw one but of myself and my interests and with the help of my wonderful dad it turned out pretty good.
Here is my attempt
As you can tell I am a big fan of Harry Styles and Harry Potter.
I love social media, baking, netball, friends and family
Have you done your own portraits?
If you have what artist is it inspired by?

What is a Waste of Time??
Kia Ora bloggers
In Gillstrom literacy we are looking at different types of waste. I have chosen to look at a waste of time because I find that I waste a lot of time. We had to write 3 paragraphs ( Intro - Body - Conclusion ) here is mine.
Waste can be used in many different ways, for example, a waste of time. A waste of time meaning, you do something that you will not get anything out of eg; complaining. If you complain it is not actually getting you anywhere, instead of complaining you could be doing something useful like doing homework or doing something active.
Spending time on devices is a big waste of time. Lots of screen time is not good for you. People reckon you should spend 2-3 hours a day on a screen. People rely on screen time to entertain themselves and they just forget about socializing and playing outside.
In conclusion I think that we need to venture into the real world a bit more and spend more time with family and friends. Instead of wasting time you be doing homework, Playing outside, hanging with friends and much more.
