Winter Personification

In Gillstrom literacy we have been focusing on personification, we got given the task to create a story about one of the four seasons. We had to have 3 paragraphs and it had to include 5-6 examples of personification, creative and interesting word choices. Here is what I have done.

I opened the door, the snow brush upon my doorstep, I quickly shut the door. I looked outside the frosty window, lightning danced across the sky. I strode into the toasty warm living room my daughter Emily was playing the Piano,
Her hair swayed under the pianos breath.

As I stepped outside the snow crunched like a rosy red apple. I looked at the moon as my hands shook like a massive earthquake. I walked to the letterbox and quickly ran back inside, I slammed the door behind me, dropped the mail on the bench and jumped on the couch.

I laid in my bed, I could not get to sleep because all I could hear was the wind howling and the rain crying. I could also hear all of the rats scrambling round in the cupboard. I huddled up under the covers and eventually fell asleep.

  1. Hi Mckenna. "lightning danced across the sky" a nice example of personification. Your sentences are interesting and varied. Keep working on your sentence beginnings. Avoid over using "I"
